It doesn’t matter if you are looking for an area to visit alone for a day trip, with a partner, with family, or with the work team, there is nothing like the Carmel Coast area to spend an amazing and experiential day, full of landscapes and attractions. The Carmel Coast is defined between the slopes of Mount Carmel and the Mediterranean Sea, with the council borders to the north in Tirat Carmel and Haifa, to the south in Hadera, to the east in Binyamina, Pardes Hanna, and Karkur, and of course to the west… the sea.
What is special about this area is that it is also close to Haifa, which further increases the number of attractions and places you can reach. All you need to do is plan the trip correctly, be open to changes, and of course come with a lot of good spirit.
Carmel Park
There is no one who has not visited Mount Carmel, a mountain that has several nature reserves as well as national parks, all together called “Carmel Park.” It is one of the largest parks in the State of Israel and has beautiful landscapes, geological phenomena, stunning wildlife, and quite a few historical findings. The park includes the Hai Bar Reserve, which aims to breed endangered animals, and there are fascinating sites like the Muhraqa with amazing views. There is no doubt that a visit to the area, even if it slightly strays from the Carmel Coast, requires a visit to Carmel Park.
Yagur Stream
Yagur Stream is also a place worth visiting as part of a day trip in the area. Yagur Stream is located on the eastern side of Kibbutz Yagur and includes amazing waterfalls that you don’t see every day, it has a stunning viewpoint for the entire valley area and passes through the Yagur Ashdot Park, which is part of Carmel Park. It has myrtle bushes that grow in the area, and therefore its second name is Wadi Shomeria, and if you are looking for interesting trails suitable for both adults and children, as well as challenges and attractions, this can definitely be your direction.
Our Lady of Carmel Monastery
Another place worth visiting, which is considered an important Christian site but can interest all religions, is the Our Lady of Carmel Monastery. Although it is more in the Haifa area than in the Carmel Coast area, it has quite a bit of interest and is worth visiting. Today about 20 nuns live there, and it is open to visitors unlike when it was closed in the past. It has stained glass windows with the figure of Jesus, and it is a very interesting place to visit.
There is no doubt that the Carmel area as well as the Carmel Coast area have a lot to see. This is a very limited collection of the different options, and there are countless more places to visit and spend time in. The Carmel Tunnels road makes everything even simpler, as getting from place to place is very comfortable and very quick, allowing you to accomplish quite a bit in such a day.
