Haifa, the third largest city in Israel, offers travelers a variety of attractions, activities, and hidden gems that you won’t find anywhere else in Israel. The Carmel Tunnels make traveling to and from Haifa, as well as enjoying the city’s sites, convenient, easy, and particularly enjoyable, while saving significant time and fuel. Here are some of the attractions that Haifa offers to travelers through the Carmel Tunnels:
The Bahá’í Gardens in Haifa
The Bahá’í Gardens, highlighted by the golden-domed shrine, are the world center of the Bahá’í faith. The beautiful terraces that characterize the gardens extend from the summit of Mount Carmel to its foothills, providing visitors with a breathtaking view and one of the most prominent features of the city. Entry and tours of the gardens are free of charge.
The Cable Car to Stella Maris Ridge
After arriving in Haifa through the Carmel Tunnels and saving time, fuel, and avoiding traffic, you are invited to ride the unique cable car, which includes three transparent balls, climbing from the Bat Galim promenade to the top of Mount Carmel (Stella Maris) and providing a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea, Haifa Bay, and the lush slopes of Carmel. On a nice day, you can also see Rosh Hanikra and the Akko Bay. The ride lasts about five minutes each way, allowing you and your children to enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of the city of Haifa.
Our Haifa is an amazing coastal city!
As Israel’s central coastal city, Haifa offers a variety of activities for surfers among us, who are invited to come to the city through the Carmel Tunnels, comfortably, easily, and quickly. At the Dado Beach promenade, by the beautiful blue sea, you have a variety of surfing activities for all ages and an experienced and skilled training team at your disposal.
You can rent surfing equipment on-site and enjoy rhythmic music and a lively Haifa beach atmosphere. For the adventurers among us, it is also recommended to take a diving course at one of Haifa’s magical beaches, at one of the diving schools that offer courses for all ages and levels. And after diving and surfing, you can “surf” home comfortably and quickly, through the Carmel Tunnels, of course!
Some attractions you will find only with us
We haven’t yet talked about the variety of additional attractions you can reach through the Carmel Tunnels, in a short time while bypassing traffic jams, in a fast and pleasant ride, and saving significant time and fuel: Haifa Theater, one of the most important and significant cultural institutions in Israel, Haifa Cinematheque offering a rich variety of quality films, exclusive events, and special activities for cinema lovers, the Carmelit, a unique project in Israel, the first underground train in the country, connecting six stations and eight minutes between Gan HaEm on Carmel and Paris Square in the lower city, without traffic jams, traffic lights, and congestion, and with maximum safety.
We haven’t mentioned the educational zoo and the prehistory museum, the go-karting and the adventure park, the variety of pampering hotels, the Sami Ofer Stadium, the most advanced of its kind in the country, the visitor center at the oil refineries, the restaurants, pubs, and bars, Haifa Port, the market, and many more attractions surrounding Haifa and its surroundings – attractions that are recommended to visit in the most convenient, fast, safe, environmentally friendly, and economical way, through the Carmel Tunnels, the largest and most complex transportation project of its kind in Israel. So, have a pleasant trip through the Carmel Tunnels and… enjoy your time in the city of Haifa!
