In the Heart of the Forest, Between Haifa’s Neighborhoods – Ziv and Remez Streams

בלב החורש, בין שכונות חיפה – הנחלים זיו ורמז

A short trail that passes through two valleys covered in forest and offers hikers nature in the heart of the big city.
This is an almost circular walking trail, with a medium level of difficulty suitable for experienced hikers. The route circles around the Ramat Chen neighborhood in Haifa and overlooks the “Grand Canyon” area and the Neve Sha’anan interchange complex in the Carmel tunnels.
The trail passes through two shaded streams and includes several rock steps and small cliffs. In the open area between the streams, there is diverse seasonal blooming in winter and spring. Due to the short length of the trail, it is suitable as a route to get acquainted with the landscapes of the Carmel (but is not suitable for those who have difficulty walking or for strollers). The path is marked with red trail markers, and at the exit from the Ziv stream, a new path marked in green branches off leading back to the Ziv neighborhood a short distance from the starting point.
The walking duration in the Ziv and Ramaz streams is 1-2 hours of walking.
The route is relatively close to the tunnel route. From the Neve Sha’anan interchange, we will drive according to the signs to the Neve Sha’anan neighborhood on Simcha Golan Street. At the traffic light at the intersection of Trumpeldor Boulevard, we will turn right, and at the next traffic light, we will turn right onto Berel Street in the Ziv neighborhood. At the first roundabout, we will turn left onto Pinchas Ram Street and park at the beginning of the trail.
The endpoint is near a supermarket at the entrance to the Ramat Sapir neighborhood. The driver can be sent for a short walk of about a kilometer along Hankin Road back to the starting point, return by bus, or leave an additional vehicle in the parking lot of the shopping center on Moshe Gut-Levin Street.
