In recent years, the cycling industry has developed significantly and gained great popularity. Many people have discovered bicycles as an option for enjoyable sports activity, while others enjoy the benefits of using bicycles on the roads as a particularly efficient transportation solution.
If you feel like going on a truly special adventure, with a green landscape that washes over your eyes, it’s time to pack your bicycles and head to our magical north.
There are quite a few bike trails in the north that many travelers in Israel enjoy every year. Apparently, something about the combination of the green landscape, fresh air, flowing water, and colorful blooming makes the north a truly magical gem.
How will you know which bike route to choose? Especially for you, we have compiled a parade of recommended bike routes in the north. Hit the road!

Nahal Oren

Nahal Oren is located on the western side of Mount Carmel. The hiking area in Nahal Oren combines a diverse landscape; rocky scenery alongside mountainous scenery filled with shades of green that adorn Mount Carmel throughout the year.
The cycling route can be started at the “Lake” parking lot. From the parking lot, cyclists head east towards Nahal Oren. At the beginning of the route, you can enjoy raspberry bushes adorning the path, alongside a pleasant flow of water in the stream.
Further along the bike trail, you reach a forest. Here you can choose: continue climbing up the forest, or take a short break to splash in a pool located 200 meters up the forest.
In either option, you will eventually climb up the steep forest trail, until you reach Kibbutz Beit Oren.

Carmel View

One of the recommended bike trails in the north is the Carmel View route.
The starting point of the bike route is the “Forest of the Foresters” parking lot, near the University of Haifa.
The cycling route in Carmel View offers a stunning view, colorful blooming, and clean, clear air filling your lungs.
The route is recommended for cycling throughout the year, with a length of 25 km. The average cycling time is two and a half to three hours.
Given that the route contains well-known landmarks in the country as it circles around Carmel, it is suitable for cycling in all seasons and at an easy difficulty level (especially suitable for beginner cyclists), the route is popular among many cyclists who frequent and conquer the route throughout the entire year.
This is a circular, convenient, and mainly beautiful route, organized and signposted along its entire length, so all you have to do is pedal and enjoy the ride.

Tel Napoleon Akko

Tel Napoleon in Akko is one of the most stunning viewpoints in the Old City of Akko. The viewpoint overlooks the entire city, while the statue of Napoleon proudly stands at the summit of the viewpoint.
At Tel Napoleon, you can find walking trails of varying difficulty levels, as well as bike trails of different difficulty levels.
At Tel Napoleon, there is a dedicated route for beginners who wish to practice their cycling skills, only five km long.
Additionally, there is a dedicated area for cyclists to train, learn, and improve their cycling skills and control over the bicycle.
Tel Napoleon in Akko is considered one of the most recommended bike trails in the north, due to its suitability for the whole family, through various routes and diverse difficulty levels.

Rosh Hanikra

The Rosh Hanikra area is one of the most popular for cycling in the north. You can start and finish the route at different points, while the various routes allow cyclists to choose varying difficulty levels that suit their personal abilities.
A particularly recommended route is the one leading from Nahariya to Rosh Hanikra.
The length of the route is 12 km and the average cycling time is an hour and a half. The route has an easy to moderate difficulty level, the path is paved along its entire length, so the route is suitable for beginner or amateur cyclists who want to enjoy the stunning scenery at Rosh Hanikra.
The special route begins at the promenade adjacent to the beach in Nahariya, from there you start pedaling and climb upwards towards Tel Akhziv and along the coast, until you reach Kibbutz Rosh Hanikra.
As you near the end of the bike route (at the point where the road curves), it is recommended to stop as this is the sign that you have reached the most stunning viewpoint at Rosh Hanikra. This is the time to stop, take a deep breath, and enjoy the breathtaking view that unfolds before your eyes.
