Bat Galim Beach is a designated beach located in the northern part of the Bat Galim neighborhood. It’s a small, quiet neighborhood beach, bordered on both sides by breakwaters. For those driving in the area, it’s easy to miss this unique beach, as it’s nestled in the heart of a residential neighborhood and the road leading to it passes through the streets of the neighborhood. The beach is quiet and homey, not crowded with attractions, but it offers peace and tranquility to those seeking small beaches without the hustle and bustle of other bathing beaches.
The beach is very clean and well-maintained, and includes a lawn, shaded shelters, and seating. A small kiosk with seating is located at the entrance to the beach, with a warm and friendly neighborhood atmosphere.
Similar to other beaches in Haifa, the location has a surf and diving club offering instruction and rental services. Additionally, Bat Galim Beach has fitness equipment and a fenced basketball court open until 9:00 PM.

The eastern side of the beach is impressive, featuring a small marina and fishing pier, where fishermen stand with their rods, enjoying the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the sea. On the western side of the bathing beach is the skeleton of the Casino hotel, which was a magnificent tourist attraction years ago and included a seawater pool. The pool no longer exists, but the hotel’s skeleton remains, a reminder of the days when Bat Galim was a thriving tourist neighborhood.
Immediately after the historic hotel’s skeleton begins a stunning promenade, allowing for a quiet and pastoral walk along the rocky shore. Birds and fish can be seen, and there are benches in stone arches along the promenade, or on the grass. The promenade is adjacent to the front of the Bat Galim neighborhood, and along it are impressive Arab stone houses with characteristic local architecture.
At the beginning of the promenade are several restaurants and cafes, and at the other end is Haifa’s unique cable car station. At the foot of the cable car is another restaurant, and after dining, you can take the cable car up the mountain to the nearby Stella Maris Church viewpoint and from there, enjoy a magnificent view of Haifa Bay. On days with good visibility, you can see Acre’s port from there.
