How to Plan a Trip to the North

איך לתכנן טיול בצפון

There’s nothing like a day trip or more, and there’s nothing like the North to do it. It could be a work trip organized by management or the workers’ committee, it could be a friends’ trip, and it could be a fun family trip that you do once or twice a year for bonding and for the experience of being together.
In the North, there’s no shortage of places to travel, and it could be the far North like the Golan Heights or the close North like Haifa, Acre, and everything in between. No matter what kind of trip you are planning to the North, it’s advisable that it be well planned, and here are some tips on how to plan such a trip in the best way.

Do you have kids? You must tailor the trip for them.

If you are going on a family trip with children, especially if they are small, you must of course tailor the trip for them. With all due respect to the historical site you want to see or the museum you are really looking forward to visiting, if you don’t want the kids to drive you crazy and if you want them to enjoy as well (and obviously you do), you must provide them with suitable options.
For example, if the trip is to the Haifa area, a visit to the educational zoo in Haifa could be exactly what you need. Do you know a child who doesn’t love animals? There isn’t one. At the educational zoo in Haifa, they can be exposed to different species of reptiles, like the Indian python and the desert iguana, birds like the white stork and the Alexandrian parakeet, among the mammals the Israeli gazelle and the Persian leopard, as well as a botanical garden and a prehistoric museum.

Traveling with friends who love culture? There’s no shortage of things to do in the North…

Another type of “forum” is art enthusiasts. In the North, there are plenty of places to visit for museum lovers, places like the Mane Katz Museum, the Haifa Museum of Art, the Dagon Museum, the Railway Museum, or the Ji Interactive Gallery, and these are just a few examples. When planning a trip with visits to such places, you need to ensure first of all that it suits everyone, and no less importantly, that they are open when you plan to arrive and there are tours or guides if you are interested in that.

Don’t rush from place to place…

Another important tip for those traveling in the North and in general is not to rush from place to place. So true, you have one day or a little more within your crazy daily routine, but hey, where are you rushing to? Isn’t it better to fully experience the places that interest you rather than rush from place to place?

Proper route planning

And still, in order to make sure you get to where you plan to go, you need to plan your trip correctly. In the North, for example, you have the Carmel Tunnels, which save you quite a bit of traffic and headaches and allow you to accomplish what you want with proper planning.
A trip to the North can be especially enjoyable if tailored to the people and if the time and route are planned correctly.
